A wonderful night . Tom took us through the painting of a face, from the bones under skin (with the help of Freddy- a skull) to the painting from a black and white picture of a face. He started off with basic shape placing the eye sockets,end of nose and chin and then laying in dark areas( shadow) and light areas in blue and white. He then refined the eye nose and mouth as can be seen in the photos. Through all this we had a lesson in art history/ appreciation plus stories about Tom’s experiences. He will be back next year to finish off the painting with the use of glazes. Many thanks Tom. Haste ye back!
