Dorice Kerr ,Bob Oswald, Fiona Burley and guest artist Julie Linton brought examples of their work and showed us how they approached their very individual work practices .This was enjoyed by all our members as the 4 artists spent most of their time chatting to them and explaining their techniques. Excellent night . Apologies for lack of photos.
Thanks to the artists and special thanks to Julie for giving up her time to come and demonstrate for us.

Madhumati Manda did a watercolour workshop in Kay Park Parish Church for our members and friends. Wonderful day where we painted poppies in a loose watercolour style. Super teacher and good artist.
Grateful thanks ,Madhu. Some photos from our day.
March 19 th . Competition and buffet night.
I’m always amazed and grateful for the terrific buffet produced by our members. The paintings in competition were excellent . Our judges were Alana Simpson( art teacher at Kilmarnock Academy) and Gavin Hunter an honorary member and ex president of our club. Alana said she had difficulty choosing – so many paintings appealed to her. A very nice compliment. Winners were Margaret Skelton , Ian Hamilton and Gavin Hunter. Well done to the winners and runners up and also to members who submitted their work. Hope you enjoyed our penultimate night in Kilmarnock Academy.

Another great social evening. We had 2 raffles ,a sales table and a super buffet, provided by the club with donations from our members. This evening is a social ,friendly occasion where we can all relax and have a chat. It also provides extra funds for our club. Lovely to see members who have been off through illness etc. It was good catching up with them.
Special thanks to committee members for setting everything up and also to yourselves for providing raffle prizes , food for buffet , articles for sales table.
A special thanks to Kilmarnock Academy janitor Mark who is so helpful and who looks after us. All Kilmarnock Academy janitors over the years have been great. We do appreciate all the help they’ve provided.
This is our last Christmas night in Kilmarnock Academy, as it is closing and moving to the new campus at James Hamilton. Hopefully we will go with them for 2018-2019.
Thanks once again to our members for their support and help throughout the years.
Proud winner of Elaine Johnston’s painting is Maryrose Muir. Hope you enjoy your painting.
Roddy painted a sea scene in oils with the help of his laptop, a large mirror, and his canvas. He painted with his back to his canvas checkingbetween his laptop( where his photograph was displayed and the mirror. Difficult to work out but he produced a great painting. Most impressed that he could paint an horizon line on his canvas behind him by looking in the mirror.( I know -I tried it and got covered in paint and missed the canvas most of the time)
Thank you Roddy for a thought provoking evening.
What a great night. Informative ,constructive and very gentle with her comments. Thank you Fiona -we all enjoyed the evening. Here are some of the pictures from that night
